A beginner’s guide to GUINOT Skincare for mature skin

GUINOT work on the basis that every person’s skin is different and is exposed to different environmental and stressful conditions at different times. That’s one of the reasons why there is such a wide range of skincare products and treatments available from us, and why we continue to focus on the research and development of new products. GUINOT Skincare products are science-led, and not one product is tested on animals. There are no artificial colourants, preservatives, or perfumes, meaning our products are also paraben-free. Our products are made in an environment that’s working to pharmaceutical standards, meaning the air is filtrated within the areas where our products are produced.

The GUINOT Way to Mature Skin

  • Double Cleanse, tone and moisturise – twice a day

Double cleansing is essentially cleansing twice morning and night. While this may sound excessive, it is beneficial for cleaning the three layers of the skin; the dermis, epidermis, and sebaceous tissue. Makeup, pollution, oils, and sweat build up from the environment or through the day-to-day activities so it’s important to double cleanse to remove dirt and grime! Which type of cleanser should you use? This will depend on your skin type and your individual skin needs.

Dry Skin – Try a ‘Hydra’ cleanser, such as the Lait Hydra Beaute, a rich and creamy, surfactant-free cleanser that ditches the dirt to reveal super soft, beautifully hydrated skin: shop here

Dry, but oily: Try Lait Hydra Fraicheur, a light and refreshing cleansing milk, a skincare product that whisks the day away without the need for elbow grease: shop here

Oily Skin: Try Mouse Nettoyante Microbiotic, the perfect cleanser for all oily skin types, it purifies the skin in-depth and controls the spread of spot-causing bacteria: shop here

  • Toning

If you are using something like a milky cleanser (the ‘Lait’ products) then it is ideal to tone after. This completes the skin cleansing routine, rebalances the PH and refreshes the skin. But we do have some cleansers that where there is no necessity to tone.

  • Exfoliate – twice a week

Our skin starts to age in our twenties, depending on lifestyle, environmental factors etc, and cell turnover begins to decrease, making exfoliation even more important to help stimulate the renewal of cells. Exfoliation helps with skin health and combats dull-looking skin, by removing dead skin cells. Try out ‘Gommage Eclat Parfait’:

  • Masque – twice a week

After exfoliating, we recommend a masque twice weekly. A masque is almost like a mini-facial treatment at home. Masque Hydra Beaute, twice weekly will boost the skin:

  • Serums – twice a day

A serum is more intense than a moisturiser, it penetrates really quickly down to the bottom of the epidermis, where all the new cells are born and multiplied. GUINOT has a full range of serums, to complement the moisturiser most suited to your skin, to boost its effects. ‘Serum Nutri Cellulaire’, is a nourishing and hydrating serum, specifically developed to treat tired, devitalised skin, nourishing through cellular nutrition, and hydrating for radiant skin

  • Ageing skin: choose GUINOT ‘Crème Age Logic’, a pioneering anti-ageing moisturiser, which contains cellular energy to boost the activity of ageing skin cells and awaken inactive cells: If you’re starting to become aware of the appearance of wrinkles, the odd fine line or crowfoot, choose ‘Creme Riche Vital Antirides
